This a fun dessert for any occasion; I made this geometric heart shaped mirror glaze cake for Valentines day, but you can do any shape you want. They are fun to make, delicious, and look beautiful for any occasion! The only special equipment you will need is a special silicone mold, I used this one below from Silikomart.

These classic Canadian Christmas cookies are light as air and seriously delicious. Whipped shortbread was something I craved throughout my pregnancy; so naturally I made them A LOT and was able to work on and perfect this recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients 3 cups softened butter 1-1/2 cups sifted confectioners' sugar 1-1/2 cups cornstarch 4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1 or 2 vanilla bean pods or or 1/4 tsp vanilla bean paste Directions 1. In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer cream butter and confectioners's sugar until well combined. 2. Gradually add cornstarch on low speed until combined. 3. Add flour 1/2 cup at and whip on low/medium for 5 minutes. 4. Bake at 250' for 30 min or until bottoms are lightly browned. NOTES: These cookies are baked "low and long" aka at a low temperature for a long time. Think of it this way the best way to get a light and flaky cookie texture is to dry them out rather than 'cook' them, as there is no egg in this recipe. You also want to make sure you use real vanilla bean pods or you can buy the paste, you do not want to use the liquid vanilla extract; the liquid would ruin the light flaky consistency of these cookies. If you have ever attempted to make one yourself or even searched the internet for the best method, you will have found that there are hundreds of different recipes and methods to get the perfect drip cake. This is my tried and true approach:
Recipe: 100g chocolate or candy melts 100ml Double cream 2 Tablespoons Glucose syrup **NOTE: multiply up this recipe as required; I prefer to use weight for this recipe because candy melts and chopped chocolate do not measure as precise in cups. Method:
There’s nothing that’s more impressive than when vendors brainstorm to design a shoot that has us enthralled with the creativity and talent they have. Stephanie Howie one of the senior event planners Forever Enchanting Wedding & Event Planning did just that along with all the amazing vendors that took part in this shoot. What came from this collaboration is quite amazing.
This wonderful Shoot and Inspiration came from our team and amazing talented vendors helped make this Geometric Shoot happen and I could not be more proud to be one of the vendors featured.

Making gender reveal cakes has always been one of my most favorite cakes to make. I always felt like it was such an honor to be the first to know such important news. It's also one of the more stressful cakes to make, because you have to get it right!
As some of my followers know I am pregnant with our first child. Which we are absolutely over the moon about; its the biggest blessing I could have ever hopped for and I was hoping we would be able to have a gender reveal cake of our own. So we decided to do one for our Mother's and family for Mother's Day. My husband and I already know the gender, but thought it would be fun to so something special, and something that represents our unique personalities in how we revealed our little one's gender to our friends and family. So we settled on doing a gender reveal cake for our families and my husband is going to our local gun range to shoot at exploding targets (which will be full of our gender colour) and film it for a "Facebook Reveal". So in honor of our gender reveal, I thought I would show my followers how to do a photo tutorial of how to make your own gender reveal cake at home. As much as I love making my customers beautiful gender reveal cakes; it's not always feasible, now you can make a quick and easy homemade version! Step One:
Step Three: Take a round cookie cutter and cut a hole in the middle of all your cake layers Except for the top and bottom cake layers.
Step Four: Stack and fill your layers with your favorite homemade buttercream; making sure to leave that middle hole free of buttercream.
Step Five: Fill the centre of the cake with Pink or Blue candies.
Step Six: Place the top layer on the cake and cover with a layer of your icing and decorate!
Homemade vanilla extract is both delicious and easy to make; it’s one of my absolute favorites. It can also be used to make an amazing simple syrup to douse on your torted cake layers; once you try making your own vanilla extract you will never go back to store bought.
If you are making this for everyday use than the vodka version works perfect; however, if you want to make it a little bit more special, try using brandy or rum version. It works great as a holiday present as well; after the month fermentation you can divide it into smaller decorative bottles and give as a unique and Homemade vanilla extract is both delicious and easy to make; it’s one of my absolute favorites. Instructions 1. Split each vanilla bean in half lengthwise. 2. Place the vanilla beans in a clean jar or bottle. Cover them with alcohol, making sure they are completely submerged. Cover the jar or bottle and give it a good shake. *be sure to sterilize the jar as if you were canning. 3. Store the jar or bottle of vanilla beans in a cool, dark place for at least one month, shaking it from time to time. 4. You may wish to remove the vanilla pods and decant the extract into a pretty bottle. If you want to remove the vanilla bean then strain through a coffee filter; although, I don’t recommend that as the beans hold a lot of flavor. gift.
Now normally I don't publicize cake recipes that we actually use; but I thought I would make an exception since it is Halloween and I have a bit of down time to do some do blogging and work on my website. I hope you like it!
This recipe is so tasty and versatile; it's a great all-around recipe that can be used for a wedding cake as well as a banana loaf cake/bread. This recipe needs a butter based butter cream rather than a shortening based one; and when you are baking be careful this cake expands..so its better to leave room in the pan than to have an exploding mess at the bottom of your oven! There are a ton of variation's of the WASC cake, and for good reason it's an amazing tasting cake. The WASC is a decorator's go-to white cake recipe as well as the 'new' traditional wedding cake recipe (I know there are still some hard core out there who still want fruit cake!) but generally this is the cake modern brides want. It's hearty enough for carving and using in large tiered cakes, but soft and moist enough that there is no compromise on taste.
This recipe is 100% from scratch; many WASC recipe's are modified box mixes..generally those are for home bakers. This recipe is from a professional kitchen, and scaled down to be used at home. It should make one 8" round cake..but can be scaled up or down to suit what pan size you are using. Ingredients:

I recently went away on an amazing holiday to the UK, France, Switzerland and brief stop in Germany; I picked up so many amazing cake decorating tools along the way. We were busy with sight seeing, so I literally shoved everything over the three weeks into this bag and thought I would do a unboxing/unbagging with you all and share some of the amazing products I picked up.
